Bio

Leigh Palmer is GDIT’s senior vice president for the defense division. She oversees a $3B+ business portfolio comprised of 9,000 employees and the delivery of mission-critical services and solutions to the U.S. Department of Defense and other government customers. Leigh previously served as GDIT’s senior vice president for the national security division, which supported programs in the homeland security and intelligence communities.

At GDIT, Leigh has led multiple strategic initiatives increasing technology capability for the Special Operation Forces. These have included programs tied to data analytics where actionable information has been fused and disseminated to the warfighter; information security that has safeguarded data about our deployed forces; and information operations in response to the rise of information warfare. Leigh also oversees BICES, the premier global coalition information-sharing mechanism in use today.

Her priorities are aligned with SOCOM objectives to include advancing the mobility of a global mission force, empowering the cyber ecosystem, and operationalizing innovation.

Currently, Leigh’s team is developing critical C5ISR tools for Joint Special Operations Command and modernizing enterprise IT at the USSOCOM headquarters for the J6X staff.  Additionally, her team is delivering mobility, cloud migration and special project capabilities at AFSOC’s Special Warfare Technical Integration Support Center.

Leigh earned a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
