We are looking forward to collaborating with the world’s finest SOF community at 2022 SOFIC. NDIA is closely following the developments regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) including reports and travel advisories from the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the U.S. State Department.
The policy for 2022 SOFIC is as follows: all Attendees, exhibitors, speakers, NDIA staff participating in the event must be fully vaccinated or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test that has been administered no more than 72 hours prior to badge pick-up. “Fully vaccinated” means that an individual has received the second dose of a two-dose vaccine series (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca-SK Bio) or a single-dose vaccine from Johnson & Johnson/Janssen at least two weeks prior to the event. Only the vaccines noted above, which have been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), shall be acceptable to meet the full vaccination requirement.
The City of Tampa and Tampa Convention Center continue to monitor conditions associated with the coronavirus. They are prepared to follow any public health guidance and recommendations issued by the CDC, Florida Department of Health and the City of Tampa’s Department of Emergency Management.
Currently, the Tampa Convention Center has started these additional actions:
- Increased routine cleaning of common touch points throughout the venue (door handles, elevator buttons, countertops, etc.) using verucidal cleaning agent
- Overnight electrostatic cleaning of areas used for meetings
- Strategically placed hand sanitizer stations throughout the facility for guests and employee use
NDIA also recommends using healthy travel practices and policies, such as avoiding activities that involve physical contact, such as shaking hands, frequent hand washing, and staying home if you are sick.
We will disinfect registration kiosks and counters continuously throughout the day, and add hand sanitizer stations at registration, in meeting rooms, speaker ready rooms, exhibit areas, etc.
NDIA has partnered with SafeExpo for attendees to upload their proof of vaccination, the link will remain open until Friday, May 13 at 8:00 PM. All COVID-19 tests will be verified onsite. The following negative tests will be accepted: Rapid Antigen, Rapid PCR, and Regular PCR, and must be administered by a medical professional. All tests must be generated by an official lab, pharmacy, or medical clinic. Proof of antibodies or any home administered tests will not be accepted. Proof of vaccination verification will be available on-site but could result in delays in entering the Tampa Convention Center.

Plan Your Time
We have implemented additional health and safety measures that may cause a delay in entering the conference.
Bag Search & Restrictions
The safety of all SOFIC registrants is of the highest importance. When entering the Tampa Convention Center, SOFIC will have security measures to ensure the safety of all conference attendees. Upon arrival, security personnel will conduct a thorough but speedy hand-check of all bags and containers.
Leave luggage, large bags, and bulky clothing at your hotel. No coat or luggage check will be available at the convention center.
No personal firearms or ammunition will be permitted during SOFIC at any venue or event. The only firearms allowed in the Tampa Convention Center during the event must belong to Law Enforcement Officers or be on display by exhibitors whose firing pins have been removed and inspected.
Exhibitors are permitted to bring product and display material onto SOFIC event premises. However, all bags, boxes, and containers will be searched.
Exhibitors are encouraged to ship items to the advanced warehouse to avoid potential delays at bag search. Exhibitor freight is also subject to search at the advance warehouse, marshalling yard, and on show site.
Exhibitors will have the option to order enhanced cleaning and disinfectant services for their booths through GES.
Highly Visible Law Enforcement Presence
At SOFIC, you will notice a highly visible law enforcement presence throughout the show and at all venues. Law enforcement officers and K9 units will be at all entrances to SOFIC venues and on the exhibit floor.
SOFIC will have an on-site EMT. If participants are not feeling well, they will be asked not to attend.
Heightened levels of disinfecting will take place to sanitize high-touch surfaces and frequently touched public areas. Signage will also be implemented as a reminder to follow safety precautions.
- The Tampa Convention Center has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. They have also created and implemented a “TCCReady Together” program which includes their cleaning measures and health and safety guidelines.
